Synopsis:
At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "BUTCHOY" was estimated based
on satellite and surface data at 620 km east southeast of Guiuan,
Eastern Samar (10.3°N, 132.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 100 kph
near the center and gustiness of up to 130 kph. It is forecast to move
west northwest at 15 kph. Southwest monsoon affecting Luzon.
Forecast:
Luzon will experience occasional rains becoming frequent over the
western section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest
of the country will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and
thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the whole arhipelago with moderate to rough seas.
