Synopsis:
At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon "BUTCHOY" was located based on satellite and surface data at 450 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (16.5°N, 128.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It is moving North Northwest at 20 kph. Southwest monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas.
Forecast:
Luzon and Visayas will have occasional rains. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to South will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the Southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
